2020 About Me

Hi, my name is Iris. I go to Matawai School on the edge of the Waioeka Gorge.  I’m in year 6.  I live on a farm with my parents and brother. I have pet frogs and tadpoles, dogs, used to have some lambs and rabbits. We’ve also got deer, cattle and chooks, plus one goat.


I’m good at soccer and climbing. I feel I’m getting better at Maths and I love writing and reading. You’ll normally find me with a head stuck in a book or climbing a tree. My challenges are trying to climb harder trees. My goals this year are focusing on my own work and getting things done.

I’m looking forward all my schoolwork this year and all the fun I’m going to have. A few of the people who inspire me are Rosie White and  Beauden Barrett. I’m looking forward to share my learning on my blog.

    I really like the way you described yourself. And I think that you did a really good job writing this.

    My feed forward for you is maybe to explain yourself a bit more when you said that Rosie White and Beauden Barrett were your inspirations, you could talk about why they inspire you?
